What is a credit?
1 credit = 1 participant joining 1 session. If 200 people join your session, that uses 200 credits. The number of questions, polls, or activities in the session doesn't matter — only the number of participants.
Is XTriv really free?
Yes. The free tier includes 250 credits per month with access to all question types — polls, Q&A, word clouds, quizzes, and more. No credit card required. That's enough for 1 session of 250 people, or 8 classroom sessions of 30 students.
Do unused credits roll over?
Yes, on all paid plans. Unused credits accumulate indefinitely while you're subscribed. If you cancel, credits freeze for 12 months — resubscribe within that window and they reactivate. Free tier credits reset monthly and don't roll over.
What happens when I run out of credits?
You'll get warnings at 50%, 75%, and 90% usage. If you have auto-buy enabled with a card on file, credits are topped up automatically (you set a monthly spending cap). Otherwise, new participants can't join until you add credits — but anyone already connected stays in the session. We never kick someone out mid-session.
Can I use XTriv for a one-time event?
Absolutely. Our one-time session pack is $9 for 1,000 credits — no subscription required. Credits are valid for 90 days. Perfect for a conference, workshop, or one-off training.
Do you offer education or nonprofit discounts?
Yes. Educators and nonprofits get roughly half-price plans and a doubled free tier (500 credits/month). Sign up with a .edu or .org email and the discount is applied automatically — no application or approval process needed.
